Colleyville was initially a quiet, rural community — it wasn’t until the 1850s that the area got its first settlement. Samuel C.H. Witten established the first farm in what is now Colleyville along the bank of Little Bear Creek. The small community quickly took off and became a prosperous agricultural hub. Colleyville was incorporated in 1954, and rapid growth ensued. Today, the area is home to just over 26,000 people: a premier residential destination in Tarrant County.
