Witten established the first farm in what is now Colleyville along the bank of Little Bear Creek. The small community quickly took off and became a prosperous agricultural hub. Colleyville was incorporated in 1954, and rapid growth ensued. Today, the area is home to just over 26,000 people: a premier residential destination in Tarrant County.
